The Crew
We are Alvaro and Celia, a young Spanish couple (26 and 25 years old). We bought our sailboat in 2019, seeking the adventure of a life at sea. We have been sailing around the Mediterranean and chartering in the summer season in Ibiza and Formentera. We consider ourselves very sociable and hard-working people. We know how to adapt very well to each person and their preferences, designing different plans and routes on board according to their tastes. We are very fond of children and have a great experience with them on board, as we have two nieces aged 1 and 4 who come to visit us often :)

We enjoyed our trip with Celia and Alvaro very much. We visited the stunning cayos holandeses, wonderful . Snorkeling was beautiful and the BBQ in the evening together with the Gunas was a great experience. It is a comfortable and well kept sailing yacht, and the authentic kindness of the two made our stay a pleasure. We felt safe all the time and enjoyed Celia’s great spanish cooking all the trip.

We joined Nomadas del mar for five days in Jan/Feb 2022, we being a family of four including two girls aged 5 and 8, all four of us with previous sailing experience but this was our first time chartering a boat. We absolutely LOVED our trip with Celia and Alvaro and their 46 ft Bavaria. We stayed in the two spacious back cabins and had our own toilet/bathroom - although we didn't use the inside shower as there was a nice hot-water showerhead available at the back deck and a great sun deck to the front. It was quite windy during our stay so we enjoyed natural ventilation at night but on hotter nights. Celia and Alvaro did an amazing job in making our trip to San Blas everything we hoped for. The food was phenomenal, and our girls loved being onboard the Nomadas del mar. Celia and Alvaro demonstrated attention to the socio-economic situation in the local Guna community and despite Alvaro's fishing skills and Nomadas del mar sporting nice fishing equipment they made sure to purchase fish and shellfish from the local fishermen. Alvaro and Celia were also food guides into the lives of the Guna community, giving us a great insight in how life is in Guna Yala. What also stood out, was Celias and Alvaros ability to make us feel as part of the crew, in a very elegant and relaxed way. For us, as sailors, this was an important part of the time with Celia and Alvaro. We felt included in the choices made for our next destinations, and the sailing was very safe and relaxed even with the windy conditions we had. And Alvaros knowledge of the waters in San Blas is really good, which makes sailing with Nomadas del Mar an amazing, safe, relaxed and wonderful experience. If possible we would rebook a trip with them tomorrow. We wish Celia and Alvaro the best in their future adventure, and hope to them again.

We had the chance to spend a couple of days with Alvaro and Celia, and our only regret is that it wasn’t longer. It exceeded all our expectations. The boat is beautiful, extremely well-maintained, and fully equipped. The best part, however, is the hosts. Despite their youth, which initially concerned us a little before arriving, we quickly realized they had more than enough experience. We were a group of four—a couple with a 20-year-old son and a 22-year-old daughter—and we all felt very comfortable. We cannot point out anything negative about our stay because there wasn’t anything. The food was excellent, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients—fish purchased the same day from the local community or caught by Alvaro himself, along with locally sourced fruits and vegetables, all extraordinarily well-prepared. A variety of drinks were available to us without any restrictions. The company was delightful, with the hosts genuinely dedicated to ensuring we enjoyed everything to the fullest. No one should hesitate— we’ve traveled extensively, and we are confident you won’t find better hosts anywhere.
