The Crew

Hi! We are Hernando and Montse. We've been sailing together for over 15 years. Hernando is a Venezuelan/Spanish Captain with extensive experience in the world of navigation, having over 20 Atlantic crossings, including a solo. He has also been a flight instructor, pilot, climber, mountaineer, and producer of documentaries. He's a PADI-certified diver, too. My first mate, Montse, from Spain, is a great cook, professional therapist, and Hatha yoga teacher certified in India with over 20 years of experience as a teacher and teacher trainer. You'll enjoy your time in San Blas sailing safely, reaching wonderful places where you can snorkel and kayak, or just relax doing yoga with Montse on the beach.

We absolutely loved our time aboard Tintamare with Montse and Hernando. It was one of our all-time favorite vacation experiences. Although we only had 2 nights aboard with them, they packed so much into that short time. We sailed and kayaked between islands, and maybe best of all, we snorkeled in a coral reef which was truly unforgettable. Be warned, Hernando might turn you into a sailor! :) He is passionate about it and will love to teach what he knows. They are both truly lovely, warm and kind people and you will leave feeling that you have made new lifelong friends. San Blas's beauty is almost indescribable, I have never been to a place like it. So peaceful and calm. I will say that I found the process of booking the trip slightly confusing because there are different people and agencies involved, but I'm SO GLAD I stuck with it. We had an experience we will never forget.

Mark

Had a fabulous sailing experience with Capitan Hernando and Montse in San Blas. Great sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, walks around secluded islands etc. Also paella and pizza made on the beach! Hernando and Montese are wonderful people who after only 3 days we now consider to be friends.

Agustin and Jazmin

I cannot express my gratitude to Montse and Hernando for their outstanding hospitality, care and kindness! The entire trip far exceeded my expectations. The San Blas was fantastic, and even better was spending time with Montse and Hernando. We experienced great food, great fun, amazing snorkeling, yoga, swimming, sailing, kayaking and beauty. We now have a “family” in Panama. If you have a chance to visit the San Blas on the Montserrat, DO IT!
