The Crew
Hi! I am Guadalupe, an adventurous traveler from Argentina who’s been sailing here for three years. I love to invite others onboard to share the experience of living on the water alongside the Guna people, eating great fresh homemade food, and maybe even learning a bit about sailing! I learned a lot living here during the pandemic (without a regular food supply), and I would love to share our low-impact, sustainable way of life with you. So expect less packaging and more love in all that we do!

For 10 days I had the pleasure of sailing the San Blas islands with Guadalupe on her boat Thyra, what an experience! If I had access to all of the worlds words in every language there has ever been, I still could not adequately describe the unparalleled beauty of the area or the sincere hospitality and friendship they showed me. The islands are something from another world entirely. The food was absolutely exquisite, the adventures were something from my dreams and the overall experience will be impossible to forget. Guadalupe created something that is exceptionally special and if you have the opportunity to share this journey with them, you must take it. There is absolutely nothing to change or regret, this could be the most amazing place on earth.

Fantastic. We really didn’t know what to expect, but we couldn’t have imagined it would be this amazing. The San Blas Islands are beautiful and mostly well-maintained. There aren’t many people or tourists; some islands were inhabited by a Guna family. We felt welcome everywhere. We’re used to living on a smaller sailboat from before (though not in the tropics), so you have to pack light and be mindful of conserving freshwater. Guadalupe makes incredible food—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s hard to believe such delicious meals are possible on a sailboat! Guadalupe showed us how to snorkel on the coral reef (which I loved), and either she or Manuel took us by boat to the islands so we could explore them (some places even had a bar with cold drinks). We also got to steer the boat while sailing. This is so much more than a typical Airbnb stay! One thing that could have gone more smoothly was communication with the transport company. When you contact them, use WhatsApp.

We had an amazing time with Guadalupe on her sailboat! She was lovely and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. She guided us and helped us plan activities around the boat and prepared delicious, healthy, and abundant meals (for dinner, she even got us cambombia and lobster!). She was very attentive but also gave us our space. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We wish we could have stayed longer. We would repeat without hesitation!
